When I came to India for this rotation, I learned I would be working with the sister of someone already on my India finance team. Her name is Padmaja, and lucky for me she turned out to be one of the sweetest, kindest, most down to earth person I have ever met. She has been looking after me like a sister, by never letting me carry any bags (including my purse many of times), bringing me fresh lunches that she has gotten up early to make before work, taking me out of the office for lunch when she knows I am starting to get bored of the cafeteria food, making doctors appointments for me (as well as offering to come with me), taking care of my transport needs and much, much more. She has selflessly spent her weekends and a few weeknights taking me out shopping and making sure all my tailoring needs are completed. Each day, I look forward to seeing her smiling face at work. She makes me miss home a little less by making me feel so comfortable in my surrounding. We have been having a great time together on our adventures and she will definitely be one of the people I miss most when I leave as I have come to grow very fond of her. I hope she gets a chance to come visit us in NJ soon as I would love to return the favor!
Here are a few pictures of our shopping adventures. Sadly, I didn't get any pictures in the stores but I did get a few pictures of the lunches we tried out together while on these outings.

Padmaja is one of the very few people in my life that have gotten me to order a Dosa (Indian spicy crepe) at a restaurant. For those that don't know this about me, I am not a very big South Indian food fan. Let's just say if you can get me to eat this stuff, you must be a good sales person. She took me to a Hyderabad staple restaurant named Chutney's. The cool thing about having their dosas is that they give you 6 different chutney's to eat it with. I do like yummy chutney!
My good friend and shopping buddy, Padmaja!
My mushroom stuffed dosa. It was really good with two of the chutneys!
Padmaja's masala dosa
6 different kinds of Chutney!! I tried them all, but ended up sticking with only two for my meal.
The next day we decided KFC would do for lunch. To my pleasant surprise, KFC in India has a veggie burger- the Zinger Burger, which was really good!

Inside view of the Zinger, in case you were curious... Yum!
Scary moment from this day: I accidentally left my iphone on the table at this KFC when we left. I didn't realize it was missing till many hours later when I went to look for it in my purse at the end of our shopping day. We ended up racing back to KFC and the guy working clean up duty was super nice to hold my phone for me. I am sure that if it had gotten into someone else's hands I def would never have seen it again. I was lucky that this was one of the good guys! Thank you KFC dude!
